A muse is a person [or thing] that inspires someone to create beyond what they've done on their own... "a work of art." Muses are very knowledgeable in literature, the arts, and/or the sciences.  In ancient times, poets & artists would call upon a muse to help them write or create something EXCEPTIONAL when they were frustrated, hit an impasse, or wanted to access something deeper within themselves. 

 

A muse might be a stranger to whom the artist never even speaks, a friend, a teacher, a friendly infatuation, or maybe even a lover. It's sometimes assumed that the muse is a lover, but that's not usually the case. In fact a lot of the best muses never end up as a lover or romantic relationship at all.

As stated above, muses are knowledgeable in literature, the arts, & the sciences...and SO MANY different aspects of LOVE are covered in all three of those disciplines!! Can you think of ANY subject that spans literature, the arts, AND the sciences more than LOVE and relationships?!?  Love and relationships are EXTENSIVELY studied and written about in psychology, physiology, biology, sociology, theology, poetry, music, art,...the list goes on and on!  In fact, there's something absolutely amazing called HEART MATH now!
