WHAT IS A MUSE IN A RELATIONSHIP?
In ancient times, poets & artists would call upon a muse to help them write or create. A muse is a person or thing that inspires you to create. A muse might be a lover, a friendly infatuation, or maybe even a stranger the artist never even speaks to. It's usually assumed that the muse is a lover, but really, it's not as clear-cut as that, and in fact some of the best muses never end up as a lover or romantic relationship at all.
In colloquial terms, a muse can be a living person who inspires and creates a desire for a person to create. So if a person says that someone is their "muse" they are calling them their source of inspiration.
